Intro:
Lux ARAM is an AP carry, with her skill set leaning towards AoE-team fight-oriented team comps. She has single target damage and AoE, utility (kiting), and burst. But she’s not a strong duelist in the early game. It makes her function well versus champions that are good at 5v5 team fights, which also happen to be one of the most popular playstyles currently in League of Legends.
On top of that, Lux Aram is also reliant on poking from outside enemy attack range with Lucent Singularity due to her shortish auto-attack content (525). For Lux to deal damage reliably, either an allied champion must participate in the harass exchange. Her spells must be constantly reset to their maximum number of activations with Lucent Singularity’s mana return mechanic. A common misconception is that Lux can spam abilities constantly due to her cooldown reduction potential. But this is not true because she needs an even amount of spells to use throughout the entire duration of a fight.
Lux’s behavior:
Lux’s behavior leads us to Lux’s passive ability: Prismatic Barrier, and Its active: Light Binding (both skill shots). Using these two together correctly and efficiently makes rapid-fire burst damage achievable, as well as indefinite kiting through slows and knock-ups via Light Binding on yourself combined with Prismatic Barrier.
Depending on how Lux is built, she can be a damage-dealing Mage or can be a support that crowd controls all enemies while also protecting allies. As part of Lux’s perk package, a champion that Lux’s abilities have damaged gets marked by Illumination.

Abilities of Lux ARAM:
Q-spell
Players use Q-spell first because it has a low cooldown and high base damage. It means that every time they hit an enemy champion with the spell. As a result, the passive of your ultimate will activate, dealing extra magic damage. Once you use Light Binding on someone, you’ll pull them closer to your location for 2 seconds. Due to which opponents are easily reachable, Final Spark works precisely like Lux’s other q+e combination regarding its cooldowns. It also scales exceptionally well with ap/cdr/mana regeneration.
W of Lux ARAM:
When Lux uses her W – Light Binding, it will deal decent magic damage with a good cd, especially if she can manage to move opponents into close range with Lucent Singularity. However, team fight ability scales even better with ap/cdr/mana regeneration.
E-spell:
Use E-spell to deal extra magic damage to an opponent. It also deals decent single damage and can be cast from a safe distance.
Ultimate power of Lux ARAM:
Lux’s ultimate is very strong, especially when combined with her q+e combo. That can ensure she gets killed early on (which will help throughout the whole game).
Utilizing the abilities of Lux ARAM:
Ability Order of Lux Aram is – R > Q > W > E, which means that you want to put points in her Q (Light Binding) and her W (Prismatic Barrier) first. For this, go with Q first because it is an excellent all-around skill: Use it for harassing your opponent by snaring them. It can stop an enemy gank when you’re overextended. And most importantly, it gives a vision of the area where the bind lands. So you will know if an enemy is about to juke through a bush.
Prismatic Barrier:
At level 2, get Prismatic Barrier since this spell is excellent at blocking incoming damage from both abilities and auto-attacks during the lane phase. Plyers cannot stress how important it is to max out Illumination before getting more ranks in Light Binding. The armor ratio is what makes her last hitting easier, and the damage scales with ability power.
Lucent Singularity (E):
Next, they should take Lucent Singularity (E) at level 3 for your typical lux build. After that, they should max out Light Binding since it’s your main form of harass in lane long with Prismatic Barrier. At this point, you can use Prismatic Barrier offensively. You can use it by throwing out both spells simultaneously. So they are harder to dodge/dink-tank during the lane phase.
Final Spark (R):
As for Final Spark (R) scales better than her Q since you get one ability power per rank instead of 2 attack damage per rank. It also gives a vision of its area when it goes off so that you can see where enemies are trying to juke it. It can knock back enemies and do tons of damage. So it is an invaluable tool for team fights and splitting people off from their team during the early/mid-game.

Requirement for using Lux ARAM:
- Make sure you use Prismatic Barrier before using her E (Lucent Singularity). Since if the enemy jukes through a bush and your E is on cooldown, then they can get into range to hit you with impunity. You want to bait them into that bush. So that your shield will negate incoming damage when they go in. After that, use Lux’s AoE slow on top of them during Light. Binding goes off cooldown, then pop Lucent Singularity right below their feet to burst them down.
- It is essential to use Lucent Singularity during the lane phase. So that you can clear any minion wave that comes your way or at least slows the enemy who’s trying to push into your tower. However, be aware of where enemies are about their minions. If an enemy is about to pounce on you, then toss up a Prismatic Barrier before he does so you can negate his damage. While simultaneously repositioning yourself to harass him with Light Binding and auto-attacks.
- Use Final Spark sparingly until late game because it makes Lux extremely squishy. And it also lets the enemy team focus her easily. I find myself saving it for when my tank lines initiate a fight and draw out as many enemies as possible. After that, I’ll pop it and either burst down their carry (if the war’s going well) or scare them off and save myself from certain death
Summary:
Lux Aram is versatile in that she can allow for different item paths by using different sorts of rulebooks. Lux can play as full support focusing on items like “Tear of the Goddess” or “Athene’s Unholy Grail,” offensively – stacking mana/AP items such as “Archangel’s Staff” and “Rabadon’s Deathcap,” or a mix of the two to play both offensive and supportive at the same time. Lux has no mana instead of being restricted by cooldowns on her spells.
