The period is not an opponent of Marketers
Our good friends at Get Response recently published a(BUY FACEBOOK FOLLOWERS UK) blog article on how to make time for everything employing a Harry Potter analogy. In addition to fueling my desire to write a Harry Potter-themed advertising article – which I am sure I will do – Hermione’s Time-Turner has me thinking about marketing and time about an article I did in mine.
In my latest post about American Gods, marketing, and the power of belief, I spoke about the difficulty of gaining stakeholder support for marketing efforts. My main argument was that belief in the entire degree is the primary goal of every campaign’s pitch because, without it, the program will not ever reach its full potential.
I realize now that the majority of marketing strategies techniques, strategies, and strategies do not get the full support of their intended audience because of one issue in the amount of time it takes to put into place and show results.
It’s been mentioned several times before on this site; however, marketing can be a challenging task, particularly in the age of digitalization. Most of the time, it’s not simple to achieve the desired result. To deliver the desired results at the speed that stakeholders would like.
For the record, here are my thoughts on how time isn’t an enemy for marketers and why having patience is an excellent attitude for marketing teams and the other stakeholders.
It’s All A Big Misunderstanding
Many marketers think that time is a demon due to external pressures to complete the task faster. But what happens when the “work” needs the passage of time?
No one understands marketing better than we, who work in the trenches every day. We’re all working towards better marketing. This means consuming hours of information to keep up with the changing ebb and flow of the business. Our goal is to see things move fast, and it would be easier for all of us! However, sometimes it’s not feasible.
I have a friend who’s the marketing manager of a mid-sized company. The company runs three different websites that weren’t adequately maintained before her time at the business. Due to various reasons, such as duplicate content, low domain authority, and the use of techniques that earned Google’s scorn, the websites have to be redesigned and moved.
Three of them.
Many people who read this are aware that a project like that can take months. In most cases, like it is with this project, an overhaul of the entire project is the only way to go.
My boss’s bosses told me that a timeframe wasn’t an option. She said it was the only choice. The company decided not to go through with the redesign of the website and move.
In the field of marketing, certain things require time. If a project should take one hour, but it takes five minutes, that’s inexplicably slow. A project that takes two months and produces the desired results is a great success. More than a measured time is a necessity.
There is only One Right Way.
Timing is an essential element in numerous digital marketing strategies.
Strategies are the main reason why patience is a crucial element of success. In these cases, it’s not your time that’s the problem; It’s your friend.
Time is not the enemy of Marketers.
Did you ever hear “Good things will come to those who sit”? We marketers often spend weeks at work and then wait for weeks or even months waiting for the results. There are usually a few minor maintenance tasks and a little tweaking in the corners; however, for the significant part, if you’ve put in well, time is the key to results.
Regarding timeframes, take a look at marketing as if you were farming. Farmers plant their crops and ensure that they are secure and have sufficient water; however, beyond this, they are waiting for the right time before harvesting their crop. There is no magic button or replacement for time. It must pass before achieving the desired outcome.
Often, businesses want to attain what I’ll refer to as “X results.” And they’d like to do it quickly, however, if they realize that “X result” cannot be achieved in a single day and settle for more minor or different.
If you’re left with a blank canvas, There is a wide variety of marketing strategies that can assist businesses in achieving an objective. However, sometimes there’s only one method to reach “X result” If it takes a long time to achieve, think about all the advantages of time not being the enemy of marketers.
It’s not a secret that we live in a time of instant pleasure. A dark episode on the program Black Mirror takes this idea to the extreme by depicting a society where the status of a person is determined through the five-star rating system as judged by others. Every action of a character aims to make people rate their video or image a five-star rating. The quicker, the more effective!
We’re still not there, but we’re making progress. Even in the business sector, the lack of patience in our society is a sign of our growing reliance on immediate pleasure.
Marketing isn’t a quick process. Most of the time, it’s slow-burning that yields a considerable profit. There are a few strategies, such as PPC, which can yield faster yields if your objective is creating traffic, but PPC can’t replace the migration of your site.
If you can get rid of the expectations of instant gratification, your marketing strategies are more natural and will have a better chance of producing outcomes.
Time is a fascinating thing. We’ve provided absolute and precise definitions; however, we all perceive the definitions of a day, a month, and a year differently.
In the business world, the concept of time is one of money. If the folks responsible for the business’s bottom line learn that a project is expected to be a long time and not a matter of hours, they’re likely to be disappointed. If there’s no alternative for doing the job correctly, patience is essential.
Time is, and often is, the one thing that stands between you and success. Time isn’t a threat to mine. Could you not allow it to be yours too?
