Take out your enemies in style by using this Path of Exile build.
If you’re looking to play as one of the deadliest characters in all of Wraeclast, then you’ll need to work on your build. Though you might need to part with your hard-earned PoE currency for this, you should take into account that you do have a choice of a few builds before deciding which is for you. Therefore, here is one of the builds that are considered best in Path of Exile.
Slayer Cyclone
Even the name sounds awesome enough to make this a contender for the best build. But if spinning around and destroying all that stands in your way sounds like the build for you, then read on.
The cyclone ability is the main aspect of this build. Life, damage mitigation, and physical damage are all features that we will be scaling for this build to make sure we are getting the maximum output for your character. If you do need to save your Chaos or Exalted Orb stash to work towards this build, then we recommend you do so.
You can purchase the cyclone ability after Act 3’s Sever the Right Hand quest. The ability is available to purchase from Clarissa, though you will have to choose from duelists, marauders, rangers, scions, or templars in terms of classes. If you have to choose one, then the duelist is very effective to choose. Get yourself the slayer ascendency after finishing the Labyrinth, then unlock Bane of Legends, Brutal Fervour, Endless Hunger, and Headsman nodes in the skill tree.
Armour
Firstly, before moving onto the items that we are going to use, let’s take a look at the armor we should be looking for. To get the very best out of it, let’s start with Devoto’s Devotion. This is a helmet that buffs our movement and speed of attack. If you can’t get this helm, then add attack buffing gems to a helmet instead.
Steel Rings are very useful for this build, since you can use them to buff a number of traits. These include attack speed, melee, life, resistances, and even intellect. If you can find a ring with any of these buffs, then go ahead and equip them. Elsewhere, your goal with your amulet is to try and increase your range. You can do this with Daresso’s Salute, though it isn’t easy to acquire anymore, so keep an eye out for those that can help range on PoE Trade and such.
For your chest, try and find something that has a high-life role. The best choice you can make is arguably Kaom’s Heart for its resistance to damage. That said, it will hit your PoE currency pretty darn hard. Your boots however aren’t anything so complicated, you just need to find a pair that will buff your movement speed or your life. The same goes for gloves, though this time looks for better buffs for resistances or intellect.
Finally, the last part of your setup where your armor is concerned is your belt. The trait we are looking for with your belt is life-leeching. If you happen to have a belt or know how to find one that has life-leeching properties, then go right ahead and equip it to your character. There is a choice of belt that does stand out in the form of the Retch. Unfortunately, getting it is very hard since it was brought in back in the Talisman league days. That said, if you do manage to get one, or you have one already, then you will find that it is very useful for boosting your damage as well.
Key PoE Items for the Path of Exile Build
The main component for this build is your weapon. The gems that you put into it will be equally as important. If you want to save your PoE currency, then the Limbsplit is a good choice to go with once you are at level 12. If you’re playing endgame content, however, then go for Atziri’s Disfavour. You won’t need to scale PoE Trade for this, however, as you can get it from completing the Alluring Abyss quest.
Once you have the cyclone ability, we can then start focusing on support gems. You can help buff your melee skills with Brutality, Fortify, and Melee Physical, as well as Pulverize. There’s also the option to protect yourself from damage and support channeling when using Infused Channelling.
Please keep in mind that this is just one of the best builds available in Path of Exile. There may be others to cater to your style of play better than this. But you will most certainly be hard-pressed to find a build that can stand up to the Slayer Cyclone.
