Introduction to Irelia Aram
Irelia has been a popular pick in the ARAM map, primarily because of her mobility and split-pushing power. For those unfamiliar with Irelia, she is a melee bruiser hero who can deal massive damage using her auto-attacks and skillset. She also has sustained to keep herself alive. Her skill set requires good timing to maximize its full potential.

How is the diversity in Aram?
The beauty of ARAM lies in its diversity. You can play whatever you want. It might be the only game mode where if your strategy is compelling enough, you can win more games that are not in your favour. Irelia has been nerfed recently in Patch 6.1, so please take note of this when you’re laning against her. With these runes and masteries, Irelia will have more sustain, which is helpful for her laning phase where she needs it most.
Also, having an extra ward pretty much secures another camp of experience and vision for your team while also giving your carries some damage against champions. If you want to optimize precise jungle times, swap out Sudden Impact and Taste of Blood with Cheap Shot and Ghost Poro. Irelia Aram has more damage thanks to the presence of Lethal Tempo, which helps her clear camps faster, especially when you get your Trinity Force.
Irelia Aram: Runes
You should use 15 magic penetration marks because they will give Irelia extra damage in her early game. Although, you can swap it out with lethality marks if you want to maximize your injury at the cost of how well Irelia’s abilities scale with AD.
Greater Seal of Armor
The extra armour will help against champions that deal physical damage like Yasuo, Tryndamere, Fiora, and now after the big 6.1 patch Blade of the Ruined King Irelia (talon might be a problem too but not as much). Since armour seals are so robust right now, this should never be overlooked, especially with bruises.

Greater Glyph of Magic Resist
This rune gives us magic resistance, which is one thing we’ll always need, especially in the early game. The bonus nine magic will make Irelia much more durable against mages like Brand and Morgana.
Irelia Aram: Abilities
It would help if you maxed Equilibrium Strike (E) first for its %current health damage and reduced enemy attack speed. It works very well with Irelia’s passive. A level Equilibrium strike can either help you win trades or lose them since it depends on how you use the skill. You’ll need good timing to be able to activate it at the right time. You should also know when not to engage your opponent during the laning phase.
Flawless Duet (Q) is maxed next because it deals more damage than Bladesurge and the cooldown reduction that we get from leveling it up is just really good for Irelia’s kit, especially after the nerf to her passive. Another important thing about this skill is that it can be used to escape if you need to.
Level 1
It would help if you liked this tree because of the mysteries that will help us during the laning phase. It is especially true when facing poke champions such as Caitlyn, Varus, Ashe, and Azir. Other choices would be either 18/12 or 15/15 because they give cooldown reduction and physical damage, respectively. Whether you choose these trees or not, make sure you adjust according to the champion(s) you’re against.
Level 2
This choice is for those who want to be more aggressive and poke or trade damage with their opponent because of the movement speed it will give you. It adds a bit of extra burst to your Q, which can be very useful in tight situations but don’t use it recklessly since, without your ultimate, you’ll probably die if you jump into a bush or leave Summoner’s rift. The increased slow on your E also helps when securing objectives too.

Level 3
I like this tree because of the Masteries that will help us during the laning phase, especially when we’re against champions that can poke like Caitlyn, Varus, Ashe, and recently – Azir. Other choices would be either 9/21 or 8/20 because they give cooldown reduction and physical damage, respectively. Whether you choose these trees or not, make sure you adjust according to the champion(s) you’re against.
It would help if you took this rune to get some extra sustain during the laning phase, especially when I’m against champions that do a lot of auto-attack damage, like Jax, Pantheon, and Fiora. Other runes like Legend Alacrity or Legend Celerity are also suitable for this slot. Still, if your ad doesn’t have increased movement speed, it’s pointless to take them, in my opinion.
More Info about Irelia Aram
The red side advantage in the game is that you can buy this item. On the blue side, you can get the potion of insight for even more mana regeneration, which means more damage output during the laning phase. Catalyst isn’t helpful against poke-heavy team comps where Irelia is already tanky enough with her W . Another thing about Catalyst is that it will give you a lot of sustain but not shield or health which is useful when you’re against champions that can poke like Caitlyn or Draven.
This item gives us a good amount of AD, which synergizes very well with Irelia’s kit. It also gives you a 30% life steal which is essential for killing tanks later on in the game since they won’t die quickly without this item. You might think Trinity Force is better because it gives 45% CDR, but if you look closely, it doesn’t give mana regeneration, so your ultimate will have a long cooldown. Also, it doesn’t have any lifestyle, so you’ll have to rely on your ADC or golems until level 16. According to the LoL Tier list, Irelia ARAM has a 55.39% win rate in Platinum+ on Patch 12.21, ranking 9 out of 161.
