Evolution of Lifestyle

As per the ages that man has withstood over history following are the separate times:

1. The Prehistory
2. The Ancient History
3. The Middle Ages
4. The Modern Age
5. The Contemporary Age

Now we will examine the evolution of the lifestyle of a common man through these periods.

The Prehistory

As no historical record is available for the period of prehistory, so we have little or no knowledge of the lifestyle of a common man living in that era.

The Ancient History

This is the time of hunting and gathering. In this period, two professions evolved:

1. Hunting
2. Gathering

This was the most simple lifestyle where man searched only for food and lived like animals. Man had one distinguishing feature from animals, and that is his social life. Man lived in clans and tribes at that time and had customs and traditions.

The Middle Ages

This time of history marked a period where the lifestyle of a common man became somewhat advanced. People started using carts and horses for travel and transportation. 

Clothing became advanced too. Humans developed a dressing and lifestyle sense during this era. The division of labor started in this era, and people began to specialize in their fields. Hence, professions evolved.

The Modern Age

With the industrial revolution, things changed. Lifestyle has gone to another dimension. There evolved a working-class, who do their jobs in the industry from 9 to 5. This working-class has set standards of lifestyle, which has marked differences from both middle age and contemporary age. Internal combustion engines replaced horses, and travel and transport were revolutionized.

The Contemporary Age

This is an information age. The common man of today has information and knowledge about everything that is happening around him. This has incurred some lifestyle changes, a few to mention below:

1. Addiction to online gaming
2. Sedentary lifestyle
3. Binging to the junk food
4. Craving to be up to date
5. Following the glamour
